In the Secondary School

I started working at the Fazekas Mihály Secondary School in Debrecen in September 1998, as a System Administrator at first. After my graduation I started teaching the age-group 12-16 years. In addition to the lessons, I also held afternoon workshops where I taught programming to interested students and I prepared them for competitions. Regardless of age-group, I always tried to establish a good relationship with my students. The subjects I taught:

• Programming/Coding
• Word Processing
• Spreadsheets
• Operating Systems
• Computer Networks

In the Elementary School

At the beginning of the 2010s, I also taught the age-group 9-14 years in an elementary school for one year. After the lessons I also held a workshop and clubs where I taught programming and editing websites to interested students. The subjects I taught:

• Introduction to Computer Science
• Using the Internet
• Word Processing
• The very basics of Computer Networks
• Programming/Coding and Website Editing

Adult Education

I have been working in adult education since the early 2000s, so more than for 20 years. During this period, I held 30-hour courses as well as complex professional trainings lasting several months or even a couple of years, furthermore I also led countless company trainings, which required a deep knowledge of the sofwares. The subjects I taught:

• Introduction to Computer Science
• Computer Networks - Building, maintaining and managing SOHO networks in practice, network planning and operation in a simulated environment using Cisco Packet Tracer. Cabling, configuring network devices.
• Hardware - the structure of the computer, preventive maintenance, finding and repairing hardware errors both in theory and in practice.
• Programming - basics of various programming languages: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL
• Database Management - Connecting SQL databases and websites, maintaining tables, querying, etc.
• Office Softwares - usage of the Microsoft Office package at beginner and advanced level (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
• Microsoft Excel - at the level of more complicated - often nested in each other - functions, Pivot Tables and Power Query
• How to use the Internet (browsing, e-mailing, social networking sites) - mostly for elders
• Graphic Softwares - how to use Photoshop, GIMP (bitmap) and CorelDraw (vector) drawing/picture editor programs
• ECDL/ICDL trainings
